Sun, sea and sand

You will be pleased to know that Kathy had a full twelve hours sleep and was raring to go at breakfast. We had booked seats on the shuttle bus to Portamao at 11am so all had a bit of a lie in and breakfasted in the peasants cafe.

The shuttle bus did a round journey so we got off in the town first. We saw a church and a square.

That was the town done so we got back on the bus and headed to the beach.
It dropped us off very close by and we all trekked down to the sea and dived into the waves, all except mum who stayed to guard the bags.

The young ones then had a walk along the beach to some caves while the old ones read and dozed. We decided it was time for a drink and an ice cream in a beach cafe, very cheap. We dragged ourselves back up to the bus stop and returned in time for the Walters to have afternoon tea. Kathy overfaced herself. Meanwhile Alex had a run into town and back. In the searing heat. That's dedication.
We rested a bit before dinner in the posh dining room, served to us by Wally, who threw us all by asking for our desert orders at the same time as dinner. And upset me by giving me the choice of melon or mushrooms for starter. We decided to try the show, a comedian, but he wasn't up to much. And so to bed.

Tomorrow, Spain and the port of Cadiz

  1. Had to look up Portamao and discovered you were still in Potugal. The beach looked great especially the imposing trio in the waves. Hope you enjoyed the walk to the caves Jackie. After all you are one of the young ones !
